Field pea

Field Peas (Pisum sativum) are one of the oldest domesticated crops. They are now grown in many countries for both human consumption and stockfeed. The majority of field peas in Australia are grown in South Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. Small areas are also grown in Tasmania. The majority of the Australian product is exported. Field peas are grown mainly for human consumption in Asia and the Middle East and to stockfeed markets in Asia and Europe.
